We are aware that NHSE have announced that weight loss injections (Mounjaro) are now available in primary care. We have had numerous calls and messages about this.
Please note that Black Country ICB have yet to finalise plans and guidelines for how this may be rolled out in primary care. As yet- GPs in Dudley do not have a plan and have been asked not to initiate these injections until the ICB give approval.
If the hospital tell you to contact us this is also incorrect and we will not be able to discuss/action this, added to this there will be strict criteria as to who is eligible in the first wave (this is not just simply due to high BMI- there needs to be other conditions present also).
Please do not call or message reception via the website, asking for GP or nurse appointments for weight loss injections. We await the ICB guidance on this and will alter the message when we know more.
